For the past 2 1/2 years, I've been able to cover the cost of managing the "Rough Draft" Writer's MeetUp with a combination of out-of-pocket contributions & sponsorships.
Without turning up the Sarah McLaughlin music and showing pictures of puppies with sad eyes on you all... I'm sad to say, the corporate well has clearly run dry & it's now time to ask our members to step up & contribute if Rough Draft is something you'd like to keep around in it's current form.
If you can manage a small contribution towards our November dues payment - something roughly equivalent to a large latte or a small snack - your contribution towards our $72 6-month renewal payment will be greatly appreciated.
Note: Not covering the dues payment won't be the end of "Rough Draft" - we'll definitely continue the meetings regardless. But if we aren't even close to closing the gap by the 2nd Saturday in November, it might be time to talk about other options - continue meeting without the support of the MeetUp.com site, charging dues for future meetups, or something else we haven't thought of yet.
