Please Introduce Yourself.

Hi, I'm Carlan Steward. I am a 68 year old practitioner of tai chi and chi gung. I have been teaching seniors tai chi for 8 years. I also have programs at Merrill Gardens Senior Living in Citrus Heights and Carmichael Oaks Senior Living in in Fair Oaks, and a senior tai chi program at Reid's Family Martial Arts in Carmichael, California. This practice is directed toward increasing energy and improving balance as we age.

Have you had any previous experience in Tai Chi or Chi Gung?

Over 45 years in martial arts training and practice.

How do you feel you will be benefited from this practice?

The Tai Chi and Chi Gung we practice is good for both youth and seniors. As we grow older, many of our western practices tend to wear down our bodies. Tai Chi and Chi Gung have been scientifically proven to help us build a healthy, energetic, and balanced body. This, in turn, helps us cope with the stresses and illnesses of modern life.


Student of Grand Master David Chin. Martial Arts practictioner for over 45 years. Disciplines include Tai Chi, Chi Gung, Hop Gar with background in Wing Chun, Cerada Escrima andTang Soo Do.
