Tree Farm Trail @ Horseshoe Pond in CVNP

Let's hike the Tree Farm Trail. A beautiful trail that will take us through a pine forest and through a tree farm. This is an easy hike with one hill in the actual tree farm area. Hopefully we will start to see our flying insect friends and nest building birds.

Wear proper footwear. The trails may still be muddy.

Use GPS, OnStar or mapquest to help find your way to the parking lot.

The address that is given came directly from CVNP address website. However, it doesn't put right at the entrance. In fact it puts you past the entrance to the Tree Farm Trail. Look for a sign labeled Horseshoe Pond on Major Rd. because that will be your entrance for the trail and parking lot. Please look at the map that is provided. Major Rd. is off of 303 and is next to 271. The entrance is about a mile and a half from 303 and will be on the left hand side. The parking lot is small.

Please see the map link to help you get to Horseshoe Pond where the Tree Farm Trailhead is located:  https://maps.google.com/maps?q=%4041.233100,-81.568596

Hopefully I can make next week's meetup. Sunday mornings are tricky for me and this isn't a quick drive for me.

Tree Farm trail is a trail made up of grassy areas and areas where roots of trees stick out. Areas may be wet and muddy. I suggest wearing hiking boots or shoes you don't mind getting dirty. It is a nice quiet trail.

I reccomend hiking boots. Trails still have muddy patches.
