Boston Run Trail @ CVNP

Let's try out a new trail at CVNP.

I hike this trail today [masked]) and it is very nice.  The trail will take us around in a loop (with the option of a short cut).  Throughout the trail, benches are provided with nice scenic overlooks down into the ravine to view the stream that runs in the middle.  We will also cross some bridges that will take us over parts of the streams.  We will also see two streams merge together.  The highest elevation is 80 feet and that will be at the end of our hike.  The trail was muddy in some areas (it is nothing major), but it also rained today.

Wear proper foot wear.  I suggest hiking boots or shoes you don't care if they got dirty.

Directions :
Directions from Peninsula, OH: Travel two miles east along State Route 303 to reach the Happy Days Visitor Center. General public parking is located on the north side of State Route 303. The trailhead is located at the northeast corner of the main parking lot (north side of SR 303) for Happy Days Visitor Center.

Directions with some LAND MARKS:

--take 303 East.

--Go through Penninsula.  You will pass Winking Lizard and Fishers.

--Go past Akron-Penninsula Rd.

--From Akron-Penninsula Rd. go about 2 miles East on 303.

--You will pass Camp Butler on the right.

--Turn left into the Happy Days Lodge parking lot.  (signs are clearly marked off of 303)

Had a great time on my first hike with this group. What a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day. (My dogs are now sleeping soundly) Yay! Looking forward to the next hike!

The trail is 3.5 miles and about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours long (give or take). I used the Map My Hike app. to get that information. It is an easy trail. The hills are at the beginning (going down) and at the end (going up) of the trail and that's it. Here is a link to the trail map: http://www.nps.gov/cu...
