This is a leisure hike.
Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Let's take a pre-Valentine's Day hike with the ones who show us love unconditionally. What a great way to spend the day with our pups. This is a joint hike with the Northeast Ohio Hiking Club.
We will be hiking the Pine Grove Trail (which is part of CVNP) located in the Octogon Shelter. Pine Grove Trail is an enjoyable 2.2-mile hike through the Virginia Kendall unit of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Length: 2.2 Miles
Hiking Time: 1.25 hours
Elevation Change: 100 feet
Trailhead Location: On Kendall Park Road 9/10 of a mile west of Akron-Cleveland Road or about 2 miles east of the intersection of Akron-Peninsula and Truxell roads (Truxell Road turns into Kendall Park Road.) in Boston Heights, OH.
Because it is February, expect the trails to be and/or have: snow, icey patches, muddy and/or slushy areas and maybe a patch or two of solid ground. This is typical of what ALL the trails are during this time of year.
Please wear proper foot wear and tracks if you have them.
Please check out the map:
The map is read as a topography map. The closer the lines the steeper the terain. This trail is rated moderate.
