Miller Peak

  • Apr 20, 2013 · 7:00 AM

Hey everyone:

John and I plan on hiking up Miller peak on Saturday, April 20th. We will meet at the Tempe Historical Museum at 7 am and drive to the trailhead at Montezuma Pass just outside of Sierra Vista. This is a 10 mile hike with a 3800 foot elevation change. Afterwards, we grab a bite to eat in Sierra Vista. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to call at (602)[masked] or (602) 595-6225.

Happy hiking!!!

Rachel and John Purcell

I did not realize that drive is that long. I need to be back in the evening.

I will need to car pool as I will not have my car to go to the hike - I live in Ahwatukee so could meet at Einsteins at Ray/48th if possible as you go down the I-10. Anyone able to give me a lift?

I just spent three days in Sierra Vista. From north central Phoenix, about 200 miles, 3.5 hour drive.

A possibility is to camp at Parker lake the night before and drive up the South side of the Huachucas to the trail head. I've driven that before. It's dirt, but in good shape.

I'm from the area and would love to join you. It is 4 and 1/2 hours to that trailhead from phx. I think it is an overnight trip.

Only if you want it to be a overnighter. Last time we got back at around 11 pm. It was one of my most memorable-good & bad-adventures.
