Ballantine Trail

  • December 2, 2012 · 12:00 PM

Sunday December 2nd, I am leading a hike on the Pine Creek Loop and Ballantine Trail.  This scenic hike is right off of Route 87, so it is easy to get to.  Meet me at the Target parking lot near Route 87 and Shea Blvd at noon.  We will carpool to the trailhead.  Estimated time at the trailhead is around 12:30 PM and the hike takes about four hours.  Pack a lunch for the trail.  We'll eat at the boulders and then turn around.

Distance: 8 miles

Elevation Gain: 1500 feet

Difficulty: Moderate

You can bring your dogs on this hike.  I'm usually up for getting food after a hike and I am open to suggestions.

It was exactly as the leader laid it out in all aspects. I look forward to doing one of his hikes again. What a great day to be out there.

Guys I'm sorry, I was about 5-10 minutes late at the Target. Hope you had a great hike!

We do not need a Tonto pass, but bring cash for food afterwards.

Do we need a Tonto pass for this one? Just wondering if I should remember to take some cash...

Really looking forward to Sunday... especially after doing the Holbert Trail tonight in under 90 min round-trip; I feel so much more prepared. :)

Sounds interesting but since I'm new to the area what hike would you recommend I try first? I am in pretty good shape

Squaw (piestewa) peak is a popular one.
