Desert Park and Gateway Loop

This week's Sunday Afternoon Stroll is in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.  Late afternoon hikes are great for responsible people who get chores done in the morning, or wild partyers who like to stay up until 4:00 AM.  Plus, you get to see great sunset views toward the end of the hike!

I am hiking the Desert Park and Gateway Loop trails, along with a couple of connecting trails.

Distance: 5.5 miles

Elevation Gain: 500 feet

Difficulty: Moderate

Meet me at 3:00 PM at the Gateway Access Area, and we'll hike from there.  Probably get food after the hike.  Dogs are welcome. Restrooms available at the trailhead.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
