Re: [hiking-443] Fwd: Saturday October 9,[masked] am, Black Mesa Loop, Superstition Wilderness

From: user 1.
Sent on: Wednesday, October 5, 2011, 10:48 AM
Where on Meetup is this hike posted? It's not in any of my groups.  Also, October 9th is a Sunday, not a Saturday, but I can't find the hike on either date anywhere. It would be impossible for me to RSVP even if I actually wanted to go.
Thanks,
Karen

This hike starts as First Water Trailhead and follows the Second Water Trail (236) east to Garden Valley. From Garden Valley, the Black Mesa Trail (241) heads southeast up and over Black Mesa descending into West Boulder Canyon. From West Boulder Canyon you go west on Dutchman's Trail (104), over Parker Pass back to First Water Trailhead.  THere are forest of Cholla Cactus, spectacular views of Weavers Needle and BAttleship Mountain.   Bring plenty of water, food (snacks and lunch) for the trail, cameras, and sun protection of some sort. When you RSVP, let me know if you're going to meet at the carpool location or at the trailhead.
DISTANCE: 9 miles round trip
