Hi Zorik,

All great points but what about safety when hiking?

Extra H2O
Extra food
Two way radios (both convenient and critical in an emergency)
GPS (can't call for help if you don't know where you are)
First aid kit
S.P.O.T
Amateur radio if you have a member on that trek
Signal mirror
Signal flag
Fire starer
Whistle
Exit plan

And much much more...smile

Steven,

Listing required equipment is good too. It will vary based on the specific hikes.

I believe congratulations are in order.

I brought a whistle when I hiked Humphrey's Peak with friends and they laughed at me. But, I grew up with Boy Scouts in the family. I know how useful they can be wink
