3 Secrets of Creative Composition for Avid Amateurs

“Composition is the strongest way of seeing.” Edward Weston

How would you like to be able to take better photos almost instantly?

In this fun and educational event, you'll discover a simple composition technique that improves every single photo you take from now on.

  • Do you sometimes wonder exactly where to put the subject of your photo?
  • Are you uncertain about what should be in the frame?
  • Are you sometimes disappointed in the shot you get?

Then join us and discover how to capture the beauty of the moment by discovering how to see the hidden structure of the scene. Once you see it, you can shoot it!

This is a "no technical jargon zone", so if you're a total beginner, I promise that you will feel at ease and totally comfortable in this relaxed and fun setting.  We'll start off at the Swan Boats in the Boston Public Garden where I will teach you the composition technique, and then we'll all practice what we learned using some fun activities I have designed for you.

After a while, we'll come back and share our results with each other so you can see the difference in you photos.  During this time, I'll be happy to answer any questions you have and give you helpful feedback if you'd like.  Then once you are totally confident with the technique, you'll learn how to use it in even more ways.

What makes this meetup unique is that I am NOT going to overload you with a bunch of technical stuff and useless information (we just forget that stuff anyway, right?).  Instead, my promise to you is that you will walk away with one technique that you can use for the rest of your life to take better photos. Even something as simple as a blade of grass can take your breath away if you get the composition right.

Whether your interests are taking photos of people, nature, architecture, landscape, or even close-up (also called macro photography), this workshop will improve the results you get with every picture by making you aware of some simple guidelines (not rules) for composition.

Because I am giving personal attention to each person, and I don't want to spread myself too thin, I have to limit this event to the first 10 people who RSVP.  If you'd like to take better pictures, then go ahead and put your RSVP in right away. There is a $20 fee for this class but it is risk free. I guarantee  you love what you learn or I will give your money back on the spot.
I look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

The participants did a fantastic job jumping right in to try out the techniques. The quality of their photos exceeded my expectations. I am always amazed at how they can take a simple technique like the spiral composition and make it work for them in a fresh way. suzanne

Suzanne presented some really easy and useful tips that I have taken to heart and will practice, practice, practice on my upcoming trips. I've already packed the handy notecards that Suzanne gave us.

Had a great time once again in Suzanne's informational and inspirational meet up. I can feel progress in my pictures happening already after only two meetings!

Suzanne, I don't know where the Public Garden is. Do you have an address or T stop? Both preferably.
