Hiked one of the Ft. Braden trails last minute last weekend and was pleasantly surprised at how pretty and somewhat varied the trail was. The trail is listed as being 4 1/2 miles but our pedometer showed closer to 5 1/2, from parking lot, out and back. There is some varied terrain; mainly flat but there are a couple of areas where there's some decent descents and small hills; we were huffing a bit with a couple of these, and hiking sticks would be good if you have them, but not a necessity. With a couple of stops etc., it took us a couple of hours to walk; not a fast pace. Mainly shaded so decently cool and very pretty; there were mosquitos as well as ticks; strong bug spray highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed, and a decent workout. So....join us if you'd like; we will have two large and friendly dogs with us, and drive a blue car; I'm Anne and hubby is Todd. If you come, bring hiking sticks if you have them, water, bug spray and other items you may wish. We'll hike and then we'll head home as we'll have the dogs; others may choose to go out for lunch after. Info. and directions in link below; go halfway down the page for info. for the 'Ft. Braden Tract;' this is where we will be going:
We'll be hiking the East trail; map here...
