Core Data Gotchas

Core Data is one of the most interesting and complex frameworks that Apple has produced. Done correctly it can shorten your time to market and take care of a lot of boilerplate database handling. Done even slightly incorrectly and using it can be a very frustrating experience. This meetup will explore how to keep from pulling your hair out while you develop your project, and it will use the app-in-progress being developed over the course of these meetups.

We've also got two free passes to 360idev taking place in Denver later this year.  If you've never been, it's a gathering of excellent iOS developers along with a lot of luminaries in the iOS development community.  Last year they had Ray Wenderlich, Brent Simmons,  Ash Furrow and lots of others along with really good food and a kick-ass Denver Cocoaheads meeting.  Each time you show up to a meeting your name will be put in a jar and at the May meeting we will draw two names and they will receive those free passes.  We also have a promo code good for 15% off of the ticket price.  You don't have to be there to win, but you do have to be there to enter.

For a sample, here are session videos from the 2013 conference.

Enjoyed meeting Craig and Marc, and catching up a bit with Chris. Looking forward to the meeting slides and incorporating some ideas into existing apps.

Will see everyone at the next meetup!

Turned out to be an excellent group discussion on best practices and very good gotchas.

I rescheduled this to not conflict with Craig's talk.

Hey, everyone, I updated the description with info on the 360 idev iOS development conference. We've got two free passes and promo codes good for 15% off the price of a ticket. Hope we get enough people coming so Adam & I look at each other and say "You're gonna need a bigger room."

Hey why did you schedule this the same day as my talk?

Especially dealing with multiple context running on different threads and how to avoid collision! This is a very, very useful topic. Wished members would come on board and get this thing going.
