Play time!

We're going to do the transistor demo again to show how to use both bipolar and mosfet transistors as simple switches. This will cover simple series and parallel circuits, volts and amps, ohms law, and the formula for power (watts) and is aimed at a first step towards building some intuition about simple circuits.

Feel free to bring your projects and show them off too! We can split up into two groups for those of you that already know the electronics stuff.

Hi All, I work in Marlboro, Mass for a piezo/pzt and high voltage company called Viking Industrial Products. We supply Yale, Harvard, MIT, Sandia, Nasa, Caltec, Boeing LTS with amplifiers and drivers for actuation and movement applications. I'm always amazed at "what the cat drags in" to these meetings! Did you know that you can power your whole system when you put magnesium and copper in pond water? Makes for some interesting fishing lures! How about porting CMU's Sphinx speech recognition system to a PIC processor so that you can just talk to your device?
