Crazy traffic! Parked at Target on Gandy at 7:45. Jeff and I and walked until 9:15 to get in! Passed one bus and beat it to the base! Didn't find many familiar faces during the day...hope all had fun! We especially enjoyed the walk back to the car after walking and standing all day!!!! No bus seen on the way back! Inbound traffic still backed up beyond Gandy at at 2:00pm. I got a few passable shots and a sunburn!

If interested, here's a few articles I read on shooting air shows. Some great and maybe NOT so obvious tips here. They are all brief, maybe 10ish pages total for all 3.

Hey guys, I got two questions for tomorrow fest:

    1. Do we have sitting arrangement there?

    2. As its a day long program, what is the must watch/capture part of it?

Oh, get there before the shows start and get shots of the "static" displays, aircraft parked on the flight line. I plan on getting there at 8:00, when the gates open.

Thanks Brett. Even I am thinking to be there by 8:00. I read they will be closing gates as soon as parking get full. Not sure how much capacity they got.

Due to the nature of the event, it will probably be tough to meet everyone and stay together as a group. I will be by the entrance at 9:00, whoever is there then can start out as a group! I assume people will have varied interests and want to spend different amounts of time at various areas, so, the group will likely scatter as the morning goes on. Also, people will be arriving at different times as well. As long as you have fun, that's all that matters!

Have blue back pack will travel. :-) Seriously considering the bus from Britton Plaza. Very close and avoid traffic.. That could be the way to go.

I strongly recommend a foldout chair. They may rent them, don't recall. Last time I went someone was selling them. It does get hot on the flight line, so prepare accordingly. :-)

Anybody been in recent years? Last time I went, it was a nightmare getting out. LOL

Just to clarify. It was about 10 years ago or so. I recall it being super-easy to get on the base. But, seemed like only one gate open to leave. It seemed to take forever to get off the base. However, other years were fine.I was looking into a shuttle, but turned out to be simply regular bus routes.

I would like to carpool with someone. I will even pay my share in gas. Let me know, looking forward to the Airfest.
