Resurrection!

After seven hard weeks of completely sanding the decks, caulking every teak slat and then sealing Raven, she is standing tall and looking pretty. Time to show her off and taste some salt. Who's with me? I plan on having her out a bit longer than usual so we can thoroughly enjoy her.  If any other Captains want to meet me in the Gulf near north Clearwater let me know beforehand and we'll set coordinates. Or if you prefer, meet at Tarpon City Marina the night before (it's free dockage on weekends) and we will make sail together on Saturday morning. Interested crew please email me and then I will confirm you. If you cannot swim, please inform me. Closed toe footgear required for all.

Saturday was one of those rare days in your life that you count yourself lucky to be alive and to experience the beauty of nature and the power of the sea. Words can't describe how incredible and awesome it was to see the dolphins. They swam along side of the S/V Quest from stern to bow. They'd go under the bow swimming, under and over each other. They were ahead of us, along side us and behind us. They swam along side the Quest like an old seafaring friend. If you like adventure, charter the S/V Quest with Captain Marvin, the Old Salt. The rum-running crew is always great company.

Few people on this earth have been blessed with the type of experience that we had yesterday! How many people have witnessed a pod of up to 20 dolphins swimming, playing and jumping completely out of the water for more than 30 minutes??? They came right up to the boat and swam next to us laying on their side so they could get a good look at us! It was absolutely amazing and I feel very privileged!

Well, started the day with high hopes only to find my batteries had failed. Lucky for us though, Captain Marvin stepped up and we all went sailing on his boat. Beautiful boat with a great crew. Sailed into the Gulf and had a pod of dolphins join us for atleast a half hour! The jumped entirely out of the water and swam beside us so much that we were able to get video of them. Neptune surely was pleased with us. Captain Marvin then brought us to Miss Vicki's for dinner and all their customers sat on the bulkhead to watch our arrival and docking. S/V Quest was very comfortable. Definately a good time!

I rowed over to your boat yesterday after I put another coat of Cetol on Raven. Knocked on the hull and did not get an answer. The boat was rolling ever so slightly...............I rowed slowly away.
