Sit 'N Sip IV

Some things are just too much fun to change. Come join us for comraderie and unbelieveable stories of seamanship! Raven has a new galley installed and she will be open to whomever wants to see her. Wet slips for the night are available for any visiting Captain. Bring a chair and let's spend some quality time getting to know eachother. Finger food is usually available as are beverages. Hope to see you there.

Another Mucho Bueno good time with fun folks; our favorite of the (many) Tampa Meet-Up groups we've been to since moving to Florida 1/2014!

We've some groovy snow-bird friends, he's a 'pirate', who will have come back down to 'roost' as of mid-July. eager for them to come experience this group as we have.

    • Jenny

You stole my WOR D, Roxann :-)! How wonderful to find another individual who, instead of feeling that 'groovy' "dates us", recognizes that groovy is timeless. See you in July.

Great event, once again Capt Brian and Admiral! Great meeting new folks also. Still amazed at the couple that built that beautiful boat in Iowa and just launched it here!!! Susan, I'm holding you to those SUP lessons!! Promise some weekends offshore for your efforts. Great seeing everyone!

    • Susan W.

Yes, of course! I had a fun day paddling down by Lido Key today! Saw dolphins, had a manatee following my friend for a while as we paddled the intercostal, and one of those swimming birds, thought that it was a dolphin! It played and swan back and forth under our boards for at least 15 minutes. Craziest thing I've ever seen!!!

I wish the rating stars had atleast five more because last night was, in my opinion, the best one yet! I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed everyone. The photobombs started happening as the evening progressed which sent the night off the scale. To all the new people that made the effort and came, the Admiral and I thank you immensely. Great food, great times! The next time I schedule a Sit 'N Sip, it will be on a Saturday when the street gets shut down for Night in the Islands. THAT should really bring a lot of people around. Thanks again everyone for making the night special.

Great night again! I was afraid we were all going to roast, but there was a beautiful cool breeze! Somehow mighty Neptune always favors our sit 'n' sips!

Forgot to mention last night, anyone intersted in free scalloping trip, Thursday after the 4th, email me privately. My Whaler is trailering up and will be a 3 boat group for the day in Homosassa. Have room for 2 more. Must have you own mask/ snorkle / fins, be able to climb a boat ladder, not afraid of sea grass and can dive 4 - 8 feet with just your snorkel..often they are shallower, but haven't seen where they are this year yet. Good attitude and sense of fun a must :) Email me privately if interested.

Brian, Im having A/C issues and still waiting for the repair guy. If I make it all, it is going to be late. There is no phone contact number or I would have called. On that note, can anyone recommend a good reliable tech or company in Clearwater?

    June 27

    • Brian

Well, it ran into the night but there will always be more Gail. Hope your A/C is fixed!

      1 · June 28

    • Gail

No show, no call. If someone can recommend a reliable air conditioning maintenance repair/replacement company, Id appreciate it. My last choice was a bomb.

Well, the word is Raven is set for a haulout first thing Monday morning. Hopefully the repair will be as expected and she will be sailing soon. For the confirmed people who were set for the two cancelled sails-you will be onboard for the next if you're available. See everyone soon.

Well, as far as I know now, there will be two boats with their Captains/Crew joining us at the Sit 'N Sip as well as new people on land. I personally am very happy about this and welcome these folks to the meet-up. See you there!

    • Brian

Well,,,, EVERYONE loves special treats! hahaha. Glad you're still coming and am looking forward to meeting you.

      June 25

    • Gena

      Mmmmmmm...treats!!!!

      June 25

  • Brian

Well, into every Life a little rain must fall. Today I received pictures from my diver that Raven's rudder has developed a small stress crack along the bottom post area. As it is right now-it's a minor repair after a haulout. If left unrepaired, eventually saltwater will erode the interior of the rudder. Knowing this, and not jeopardizing the safety of the crew or the integrity of the boat, I will be making arrangements for an upcoming haulout and repair. This sail and the upcoming Moonlight Mystique will unfortunately have to be cancelled. Once the boat is repaired, I will post new sails. The Sit 'N Sip will still take place.

As far as the food goes.....we struggle with this every time.....Please bring a small sampling of your culinary expertise to share with the group. We have had some real good and unexpected 'dishes' in the past like the tequila watermelon.....be creative, keep it simple. Anything that can be eaten with your fingers works best. We're not looking for a balanced meal just tasty morsels to satisfy the munchies...remember....its BYOB, BYOchair, BYOice if your cocktail requires chilling. There are usually a few ice chests there but you can never be sure there will be room in them for your "stuff".....if you can provide the 'fixings' for a hot morsel we would all be thrilled......Gena, if you could bring your table again that would also be great!! I can't commit to bringing my BBQ to the party just yet...I'll post next week to confirm.

    June 18

    • Gena

      I'll bring the table.

      June 19

  • Chris H.

The crew of Dulcinea has decided to make a detour to join your party on the way to Pensacola, we should arrive at the dock late morning or mid day Friday.

      June 18

  • Gena

Are we doing the grill thing again or just sticking with the cold stuff? I can bring a table again if need be.

    June 15

    • Brian

Gena, sofar I think we are staying with the cold stuff-haven't seen any mention otherwise.....

      June 15

  • Jenny

We have migratory boating-enthusiast friends, Josie & Ken, who will have returned to Tarpon Springs in time to attend this fun meet-up with us. Looking forward to another great time with you all.
