With the introduction of 3.1, Wordpress gives us 8 post format types by default to help display posts in different ways depending on their content. Aside, Chat, Gallery, Link, Image, Quote, Status, and Video. When developing for ourselves or clients, sometimes these may be limiting and there is no default way to extend this and provide more formatting types for your content. We will discuss a fairly easy solution to build onto this idea, allowing an unlimited number of Post format templates that can easily be built into your latest project.
About The Presenter:
I'm a Wordpress Developer who has playing around with the platform since 1.5, going on 11 years now. I started out with custom theme development and have been migrating more and more into using it as a CMS for businesses and organizations. Lately my projects have been more on the back end writing hacks/plugins to extend the core functionality and do things Wordpress isn't built to do right out of the box.
