Do they get along with a cat?

Have a great day!

I joined this meetup group because I am a dachshund mom moving myself and my three dachshunds to Tampa/Clearwater.  I am changing departments within my employer, an international Engineering and Architectural firm.  However don't let that fool you, I am a garden variety IT and networking support person for all the engineers and architects - so I am not making the big bucks - they are! (LOL)  But I mention it because I will be showing up employed at a job I've been at for the last 4 years, not looking for work.

I am seeking leads, advice, connections, a shoulder to cry on, or any possible assistance in finding temporary dachshund friendly housing for when I first get there.  I am hoping to be able to rent a room in a dachshund household or something, so my furrkids could have their kind to hang with while mom hits the ground running, working while she looks for an apartment or roommate situation that will best suit 3 dachshunds that are use to going out the back dog door to hang out in the yard and bark at the birds or nap in the sun.

My kids are Hobbes, a rescue, now 13 years old.  He's silver dapple  Gus, a rescue, he'll be 14 in March,  He's black and Tan.  And Baby Bella, a 2 year old long haired red little girl.

I have a sister in Clearwater across the causeway from Tampa, but she is in a patio home with a poststamp size patio and no dirt.  Plus, she is not a dog person.  She has offered to let me stay there when I arrive, and I may have to, but I cringe at how unhappy my dogs will be there.  I know I will be.

Ideally I would be near my employers location, but that can come after I find a permanent location for myself and my three dachsies.  In the beginning, being is a spot that is safe and good for my dogs is more important to me.

My employer is at 5426 Bay Center Drive, which is south of Cypress Point Park, next to I-275 on the east side of Old Tampa Bay.

Anyway, I am excited to come join a Dachshund community!  There is nothing like that where I live, and as you know, Dachshunds like to hang out with Dachshunds and they are not always happy when I take them to a dog park where there is usually just big dogs.  They will be thrilled to run around with other Dachsies!

My number is[masked]-7801.

If you want to email me privately, my email is marianneland(at)gmail(dot)com

I posted on the message board as well.

Thanks so much,

Marianne Lower
