RE: [dachshund-339] Organizer

Thank you Krystal for taking over the group.  I haven’t been to too many meet ups lately as they seem to mostly be in Tampa.  I live in Oldsmar and go to the Chestnut Park meet ups when I can.

I look forward to getting to one if local, as I love to see the doxies play and have fun.

Greetings to members new and old. I hope no one minds, but I saw the email that the group was going to shut down, and I didn't want that to happen, so here I am. The dogs have fun with each other, and it's fun to watch them play. None of us want that to end.

I would appreciate feedback from anyone that attended the Palm Harbor event, and please let me know if you know of an event coming up that may interest members of the group. I saw in the paper on Sunday that there was a winterfest for Doxies in Southbeach recently, but I didn't hear about it before. Maybe we can get info on these events before in case anyone is interested. Since there was no meetup at the Tampa park this month, I am thinking about adding one on Sunday at either 10 or 11 am, but I want to get a feel for how many people can make Sunday. I know Saturday is usually the day of choice, but that only gives 3 days notice.

In unrelated news, The Dachshund is #8 on the list of the top 10 best loved dogs, although they will always be #s 1-10 on our list. The top 5 were featured on the Today show this morning. You can see the top 10 at If I remember the story correctly from this morning, the list is determined by ownership numbers, possibly from the AKC. For the 19th year in a row, the Labrador Retriever is #1 on the list. The poodle holds the record for #1 with 22 years.

Snuggle up with your Dachshund today!
