Learn to Pick Locks

This class will teach you how to successfully pick a variety of locks that require different skill levels.

Instructor: Jeff Toth is a professional lock picker and information security expert.

Cost: Free for members, $15 for non.

http://locksporttampa.com/ for local information, meetups, reviews and write ups, check us out. I also need help running everything, so if you'd like to volunteer, hit me up

You do not need to bring anything, just your willingness to learn. If you already have lockpicks or practice locks, you are welcome to bring them and suggest it, but I will be providing lockpicks if you do not have them. (If you want to use this as an excuse to purchase a set online, you can blame me )

I will be bringing with me a set of progressive locks from TOOOL, which include locks pinned 1-6 pins and Advanced Spool 1-4 pins, various padlocks, cabinet locks and the collection that keeps growing. I also have a pretty cool re-configurable lock with various security pins.

In case anyone is wondering, it is completely legal in the state of Florida to own and use lockpicks, providing you are not committing a crime. You must show criminal intent in order to be charged with possessing lockpicks. (for more information: http://toool.us/laws.html) Before we go into techniques at all, I will be covering ethics, do's and do not's.

Thank you for posting the presentation. The class was awesome with all the practice locks and picks. I am going to need a lot of practice on this skill. Can you share a site to find the practice locks you use?

Thank you, Jeff. I am going to enjoy honing this skill. Now I can pass time practicing my lock picking skills instead of less useful things like Sudoku. Then again playing Sudoku in the doctor's office will probably get less attention than practicing lock picking.

Was curious about hand cuff key law. Here is the statute. Basically, you have to let the police know you have a key if they cuff you. http://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2011/843.021
