Core: Intro to Circuits

Instructor: Steve Graves, master maker.

This class builds on our Intro to Soldering class, and is a hands-on approach to basic circuits with the goal of preparing you for our Intro to Arduino class.

Bring your own laptop. You should have a downloaded the Arduino programming environment prior to class. You can obtain it for from http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software

Cost: $15 for non-members, free for members.

If you need the Red Board Kit, it is $50. Those who took our Intro to Arduino class will already have this (and once you have it, you're good to go for Intro to Arduino too).

Overall not bad. I spent 16 years as an adjunct instructor at HCC, so let me weigh in here a bit.

2 hours is very little time to cover much in depth, especially if part of the time is to be spent building things with Arduino. Since there is an Arduino class, it might be better next time focusing on the actual circuits (using some of the components in the Sparkfun kit if you like) and not worrying about the Arduino side of things at all.

Members are paid members of Tampa Hackerspace. You would have paid in person or signed up through http://tampahackerspa...

Just signed up, I will need to buy the Red Board Kit. I assume you have a few on hand for purchase?

Would love to attend, but need the intro to soldering first (i guess)

You actually don't. The circuits will be breadboarded using the Redboard kit. You can take any of the core classes in any order.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
