Volunteer to Help Test Dogs for Pet Partners

Come and volunteer to help test dogs at St. Joe's for Pet Partner testing! So far we have a minimum of 8 dog and handler teams testing and we need volunteers to make this happen. Also if you plan on being a pet partner with your dog this is a great opportunity to learn how testing works. Many first time testers don't pass because of technicalities, you can avoid this problem by volunteering and learning about the test! You don't have to volunteer the entire day. We are happy to have volunteers in shifts. If you are interested in assisting please contact [masked].

This meetup is an event that allows you to observe and assist with the testing process of dog and owners who want to do pet therapy. Please let Scott Baggett or Pam Babcock know you are coming and also what time you are coming! :)

I'm a Dog Lover like you folks I'm sure...I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. I don't understand Dog Partner Testing? Thank goodness it's not Animal Testing. Hopefully we are all against this practice. Thanks if someone could give me a hint what this is. If it's for a good cause I should be able to help you out....

    Scott,

I signed up to be a volunteer a few days ago and was inquiring about the time I needed to be there to volunteer. It said the hours were from 9-4 on Saturday and also where would I go once I was at st Joel's hospital.

I want to get my dog trained and insured where do I start?

    October 14, 2013

    • Wm Scott B.

Terra, I would tell you to start with coming to see the test that you would need to perform with your dog. No dogs allow because it is for testing teams only. But I can always use assistants to help in the test and then you can visualize how it would work with you & your dog. I hope that helps.

That sounds great. I will be there at 9:00, unless you prefer another time slot. Where will I find you at St. Joe's?
