FTC Team Duct Tape is proud to be part of the FIRST K-12 STEM education Family of Programs!

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology, this not-for-profit public organization designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math, while gaining self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. FIRST® K-12 STEM education programs use robot challenges to build science and technology skills and interests,in a character driven program that also inspires self-confidence, leadership, and life skills . In Florida, FIRST serves nearly 10,000 students statewide.

The great FIRST Tech Challenge programming mentors at Sumo Software are hosting a Game Night Fundraiser for Team Duct Tape. How awesome is that? Enjoy a fun night playing a variety of tabletop games, meeting Team Duct Tape students, learning about FIRST and seeing this year’s robot in action! RSVP to [masked] to join in. Requested donation is $20/person. You get pizza, snacks and beverages along with a night of tabletop games and playing with a robot, with your donation. How awesome is that?! If you're unable to join in for Game Night, but would like to make a donation to the team, you can contribute online via PayPal, to [masked] or through Network for Good at, designating your donation to Team Duct Tape.
