Tampa Bay WaVE started as a monthly meetup group in 2008 for CEOs and founders of local web and mobile tech startups. From our very first meeting, it was clear that we had something very special. More than just networking, Tampa Bay WaVE has always had a focus on helping its members build better, stronger ventures by helping them flush out ideas, identify technology or business gaps and create viable solutions. We came together to help solve each others problems, share ideas and promote innovation.
Within a few years, it was clear that Tampa Bay WaVE could do even more for its members and the greater local community by becoming more organized and rolling out new programs and initiatives that leverage the amazing internal resources of its members and its relationships throughout the region. Thus, in 2011, Tampa Bay WaVE formally incorporated as a non-profit and filed for 501(c)(3) status.
As of the beginning of 2012, Tampa Bay WaVE now boasts over 80 different member ventures and growing, founded by the area’s best and brightest technology and business innovators. And with the new programs and initiatives we plan to roll out in 2012 and beyond, we anticipate these ambitious entrepreneurs and anyone looking for help will be able to create new economy jobs and companies of the future for the benefit of all of Tampa Bay.
