Founded in 2008, Tampa Bay WaVE is a non-profit charity (filed as a 501c3) dedicated to helping entrepreneurs turn ideas into growing tech businesses in Tampa Bay.
Today we have over 100 members who are building, launching or growing over 100 web and mobile tech ventures.
WaVE's officially stated goal is to help build an ecosystem here in Tampa Bay in order to build & launch 50 new tech ventures a year within 5 years. We are working with the local universities and other like-minded organizations throughout the region in order to make this a community effort/goal.
In August 2011, we got our first shared space donated to us in downtown Tampa that can not only house Tampa Bay WaVE's headquarters, but also support 25 or so coworkers at any one time - plus some meeting room space for local community meetups (such as the local developer, design, social media and other meetup groups that are part of our local technology innovation community).
The shared space that we call the ‘WaVE Pool” is a work in progress, but we can already boast over 50 visitors a week (which is great for downtown Tampa's economic development goals).
This new space allows us to include any of the business and technology innovators in the community to work side-by-side with our members. We now provide a great collaborative space for innovation, high-wage jobs and wealth creation.
I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
