WinDev - Universal Apps Study/Hackathon

In continuation with our last meeting and in cooperation with the Day of App Camp (the weekend before), we are having a night of sharing what we have learned. If you are building a universal app, then this night is for you. Come share your apps, what you've learned, and get help with the stuff you are struggling with. Bring your laptop, and prepare to code, and learn. Food will be provided by AgileThought.

Who was the gentleman that just hired on at Xamarin and was at the meeting? I wanted to sign up for a trial, but wanted him to get credit.

William presented an excellent assessment of Universal Apps. I attended to help determine what method to use in upcoming projects. I came up with 3 points: 1. If I use UA use only blank page to start. 2. UA may be a good place to start but most of the time it is only a start to be exported elsewhere for finishing. 3. It may not yet be ready for prime time development in complex apps. Does anyone else have a suggested direction for "Universal App" like development? I am thinking about using Java Script and HTML5 for all future development. Responsive is the only way to go.

I just want to make sure everyone knows. There is no scheduled speaker. It's more about practice (and sharing what we know). Be sure to get started with an universal app. BTW, the Tim Heuer session (on XAML/C$) at BUILD was a good one for helping you to understand this. There's a strangely named HTML5/JS session as well (I forget it's name.. contact me if you need it).

Any shot we can get there earlier?

Ryan at AgileThought has asked that we don't show up much earlier than 5:30 as there are still people working.

Just published Universal App on both WP and W8.1. Also shared major part of the code with Xamarin and published on Android. Will be excited to share experience with the group.
