Why: Maintaining Meetup Group and Promotion of yoga

Hi, My name is Durga. I am a certified Sivananda Yoga (an Integrated Hatha Yoga) Teacher. I am your new organizer. I saw this Meetup with so many yoga enthusiasts in our neighborhood being dissolved for want of organizer. Therefore this is my sincere effort to rescue it and give a new life. I need all your support and we need to work together as a close team to make this successful. Let us all give big THANKS to Chrysta, our previous organizer, for organizing and running this Meetup so successfully.

The purpose of this group is to bring together people who enjoy practicing Yoga, being Outdoors and Active. We'll take yoga out of the studio and into the great Florida outdoors and fresh air. You can also enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing/kayaking, beach etc., with other groups or on your own before/after yoga practice depending upon outdoor location of yoga practice and time.

Our yoga practice will focus on dynamic blend of asanas (postures), flow yoga, pranayam (breathing exercises) and meditation. Yoga teaches us the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul. Regular Yoga Practice provides many benefits such as Improved Flexibility, Improved lubrication of the joints, ligaments and tendons, Massaging of all Organs of the Body, Complete Detoxification, Excellent toning of the muscles and Stress relief.

No previous experience in yoga is required to attend and achieve results. You may experience improved flexibility, posture and alignment, relaxed body, stress relief, peace of mind, an elevated mood, happiness, creativity and much more! in just a few sessions.

QUESTIONS:
Is this class appropriate for beginners? Yes. Yoga meets you where you are at. The goal is not to become a pretzel, yet that may be the result of regular practice.

Should I eat before class? Let it be 2 hours before class or a light snack. Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach.

What to bring?
Essentials: Yoga mat
Good to have: Yoga block, Yoga strap, big beach towel, bottle of water, bug spray and sun-screen.

Classes are by donation (suggested $5.00 to $10.00). We donate portion of the proceeds to the County and State Parks. I welcome you all to the practice/class even if you cannot afford to donate or do not want to donate now. LET US JUST DO YOGA, SHARE OUR PRACTICE and FORGET EVERYTHING :)

 I think others should come join us if they are interested in stress management combined with strength training. It's fun and informal, but it really gets us sweating!
