What Jack Park is saying about this Meetup Group

I dunno. If people don't naturally self-select into this group, then that's fine. If they do, even better.

  • Welcome, Jack.

I hope we can fulfill your expectations as a "knowledge garden", and really like the term.

Watch for announcements on our first proposed meeting date and location.

    regards,

  • Jack,

I am dubious about social learning and collective intelligence. Not to say that I don't think they exist – just that sharing information often distracts from deep thinking, and engages social pressures that substitute for causal truth. Causal truth being that set of physical forces and structure upon which all is built (including mind and social behavior). It is obvious that abstraction systems (minds) are less restrictive than the systems they map. Attractive lies are still lies.

  • Thanks Jack, Will review the linked info. Statements are hollow without a full understanding of the rhetoric that drives and informs them. Randall

  • Jack, Nice meeting you tonight. Can you point me towards a summary of your position on humanity, where we are and what we need to do from here?

  • Thanks Jack, the Ogle book looks great, right on topic. I put in a plug for Identity and Control, Harrison White, which I contributed to. Aslo Stephen Fuchs "Against Essentialism" "Group Genius" and "Explaining Creativity" by Keithe Sawyer and "How Breakthroughs Happen' by Andrew Hargadon. I will get Andy to catalyze the group soon.
