We enjoy circle dancing--dances that come from many countries and traditions. No partners are needed and all dances are taught at the time. Most are relatively simple.
We're a bi-lingual group (French & English). Dances take place near Lautrec and in Cordes-sur-Ciel.
Mostly we use recorded music, though musicians gratefully welcomed. Sometimes we sing the dances too!
Some of us just love the dancing; others appreciate & include the spiritual perspective of sacred circle dances as taught at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. In these dances, there is usually a candle lit in the center of the circle. Circle dancing is democratic--everyone is equidistant from the central source of illumination!
No matter how tired, grumpy or stressed we feel at the beginning, by the end there is a comforting sense of community, peace and positive energy.
For evening dances, we usually organize a potluck supper to follow.
Most dance events are free. Some teachers ask for a small contribution, but there is no pressure to donate.
Sometimes our dances are for women only, but often we have a great group of men who dance too.
Newcomers welcome!
