At first glance this little park looks like every other quiet village green space. But Neperan Park has a hidden gem- the upper portion of the park has been transformed into a natural playground. It uses the lightly forested, hilly landscape to create a play area that blends with the natural environment. There are rocks to climb, a big slide, balancing logs, and a wooden structure that can become anything from a pirate ship to a tree fort.
It's right in the center of Tarrytown, just up the hill on Neperan from Main street. Parking is on the street; the side streets work best as Neperan is a fairly high-traffic road. Please be careful crossing the street as cars go very fast here.
About RSVPs and Timeliness
If you RSVP yes but are unable to come, please take a minute to change your RSVP on meetup.com. You can also call/text me at [masked]. That way we will not be held up waiting for you. We know that it's tough getting out of house on time with kids! We will wait ten minutes before setting off on our adventure. If you do come late, you should still be able to find us; call/text if you need help.
About Nature Playgroup
This group is for kids of all ages accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Its purpose is to provide children with a way to get outside and explore nature with friends. Unlike many after school activities, Nature Playgroup is unstructured, free-play time. We will go beyond the playgrounds and into the fields and woods, the perfect environment for relaxing, developing creativity, and nurturing a deep connection with nature and with each other. Whether your child is a baby in a sling, a preschooler who loves to run and climb, or an elementary-aged kid who needs time to unwind after school, please come play with us! (And please dress for getting muddy and dirty!)
