Taste of Atlanta

Taste of Atlanta is Atlanta's Premier Food+Wine+Beer+Cocktail Festival that showcases the diversity of Atlanta's food scene and attracts food lovers from Atlanta, the Southeast and beyond.

Now in its 12th year, the festival is again in the heart of Midtown at Tech Square, encompassing Spring Street and 5th Street. Taste of Atlanta patrons will enjoy:

- Good eats from more than 90 of Atlanta's favorite restaurants

- Live cooking demos and conversation on the Inside the Food Studio stage

- Hands on cooking classes in The Kitchen Workshop

While this is a two-day food extravaganza, for the purpose of this meetup event, the plan is to attend on Saturday with general admission tickets. If you are interested in making your own plans (a different day, VIP tickets, etc.), go to the Taste of Atlanta website:

General Admission Tickets:

Taste of Atlanta 2013 is a gated event and a festival wristband is required for admission into the festival site.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone [masked]) or in person at several metro Atlanta area ticket outlets (CD Warehouse, Criminal Records, Decatur CD, Whole Foods Market). Click here for more information:

Admit one and 10 taste coupons:

Advance Price (valid June 17 - October 25 at midnight): $30

At the Event: $40

Taste coupons are required for food purchase.

- Tickets must be purchased for either Saturday or Sunday. No refunds or exchanges.

- Taste of Atlanta is a rain or shine event.

If you are interested in taking MARTA and meeting me at the North Springs station, please let me know. I will be posting meet times closer to the event.

More than 90 of Atlanta's favorite restaurants and most exciting chefs will serve up their specialties at this year's festival and this is your chance to sample them all! From the most innovative concepts to your favorite haunts, from international cuisine to under-the-radar eats, Taste of Atlanta highlights the incredible energy and diversity of Atlanta's amazing food scene. Grab a fork and come explore the best of the best!

Scratch're not set up to accept e-mails. Bill and I are meeting Robin at the admission gate. Elissa is going to try to meet Bill and I at MARTA to ride up with us. Hopefully we will see you between the time stated above.

Remember, your admission ticket is good for TEN Taste Coupons. Taste Coupons are used to purchase food from participating Atlanta restaurants. Menu items are valued at 1, 2 or 3 taste coupons. You may wish to purchase more in advance from Whole Foods, etc. (to avoid possible long lines) or on-site. Please DO NOT forget to bring your tickets!!! Please understand that with this type of event there is no expectation to stick together as a group. Any such expectation would be unrealistic.

Wear comfy shoes and have fun! :)

For anyone who plans on taking MARTA (one-way fare is $2.50), you will need to exit at the North Avenue station and take a right on W. Peachtree Street and go two blocks north on W. Peachtree. The Taste of Atlanta admission gate is located at 5th Street and W. Peachtree. I will be taking MARTA from the North Springs station. If you wish to ride MARTA with me from that point, meet me at the turnstiles at 10:45 so that we can take the train that departs at 11:01 a.m. If you wish to carpool with me, please contact me to discuss.
