RSVP IF YOU WOULD LIKE A REMINDER - supper club in the country

Please use this link to put your deposit down

Foodie Heaven awaits!!!!  A night as a local dinner guest, in a beautiful country home.  Complete with fire places, a brisk walk and an ale tasting at Englands oldest freehouse.

So, here's the story (as all of our events have a great story):

In April,  I met an amazing woman at our Boat Ride wine tasting who was starting her own supperclub.  We had the best post-event giggle, her and her partner (he brews beer) where a great laugh.  Ther really sold the idea of hoping on the train and experiencing a bit of countryside, but not as a tourist, as a local.

It sounded romantic and fun!!! I was so pleased when Tammy (look how great her smile is!!) emailed me with the link to her new website.

It looks amazing, her house is stunning!!!

...and the food looks even beter. I love how she added colour to the pepper with the asparugus!

And look at this fire place!!!!  I seriously feel like I've died and gone to foodie heaven at the thoguht of this experience.

On the 15th November, I would like to invite you to join me on this experience.

Includes: supper in a country home (canapés, starter, “intercourse”, Main, dessert and cheese), fine wine tasting with dinner (1/2 bottle per person of exclusive wines from my cellar), 1 hour country walk guided by Tammy your chef and host, drinks by the fire and a Real Ale tasting / mini brewery tour. 1 nights stay in a quality hotel, plus a lovely group of fun taste adventurers and a guide to make it all effortless for you.

Cost: £185 for a shared room, £45 supplement for single

On our last trip away, 5 of the 9 people attended one of our previous travel events.  They are always excellent value, top quality and a bit quirky.

To register: please pay a £45 non refundable deposit when rsvping. The balance is due by bank transfer within 2 days (unless otherwise agreed).  Due to the event taking place next week, if the balance is not receive, you may loose your deposit without warning.  Please contact me if you can not pay via paypal.

Address: Beaconsfield

Train: from Marylebone

Time: We'll get the 17:27 train from Marylebone, and return after lunch on Saturday, around 5pm. However, I am happy to take the lead from the group, should you wish to spend more time in the country on Saturday. (It's a 35 minute train ride)

1 night stay, no holiday leave needed

About the hotel:

Our hotel is situated in the charming town of Gerrards Cross.  Originally built in 1688, the hotel has come a long way from its roots as a coaching tavern. On the old main road from London to Oxford The Bull Hotel has a long history of tales of highwaymen of Jack Shrimpton. While the interior has changed greatly over the years and the facilities have been upgraded, the décor remains sympathetic to the original building.

All rooms are on-suite and have luxury amenities.

There is a selection of twin sharing rooms and double beds available.

Note on spending the night: From the site, the time of the event finishes at 11:00, but when going to a supperclub you expect them to run over, and part of the fun is sitting around afterwards and enjoying the atmosphere.  For this event, the option of coming with the Tastour group is only available when you stay over night.  Finishing at 11, is pushing it for most people to get their connecting trains, however, I will consider it once I see how this event goes and I know it will not distrupt those that are staying.  Please feel free to post a comment, so that I can hear your thoughts.

About the lunch on Saturday:

'Our aim is to be one of the best pubs in the British Isles.' - Now that's a tall order!!!  Read on to get a taste for how unique this pub is...

The pub belongs to you. It is “owned” by the customers who use it today and those who have used it over the last centuries. The alehouse has been here for over 900 years and we as the landlords, are the ongoing hosts for you in a fragment of time in the pub’s long history.

When you come into The Royal Standard of England you will feel immediately like you have come home. The essence of the pub hits you in the head and heart. The building oozes history, with gnarled oak beams, flagstones and worn floors. There is a smell of wood smoke that reaches back into our collective hunter-gatherer memory of sharing a meal around a fire.

How cute is this pub?

Am interested. Would bring hubby so we would share room. Definitely prefer to stay overnight. Might have another friend that wants to go to so please give price for single and couple (guessing couple price is less because of shared room).
