Event details

This Tastour takes you to Henley –On Thames, one of England’s most charming villages, famous for it's 150 year old rowing tradition, fine food/drink & people-watching.

It our 4th year attending this event as a group.... And this year it's going to be extra special!!! We're hiring one of those 'posh spots' along the river to create our own covered hospitality area, fully stocked with yummy treats and good people to meet!

Join us to celebrate one of the most important dates in society’s social calendar. On this exclusive event, you’ll learn the history of this traditional experience as you sample the unique atmosphere of Henley Royal Regatta.




Event Date: 7th July, Sunday

Time: 9:30 am (bus departs)

As it's so close to the event, please pay the full event cost directly via paypal when you rsvp.  If you can't make it, then you can transfer your ticket to a friend.

Before 1st July

To reserve your spot, please pay a £20 non-refundable deposit directly through the meetup website. (top right corner of the invite). The balance is due by the 1st May via bank transfer.  If cancelled by 1st June, a 50% refund will be offered if your ticket is resold, or tickets are fully transferable to a friend.

Price: £115, if book by the 10th June, £125 after

Includes: return transport (£40), a reserved spot along the river, entry to our hospitality area (£20), a 45 minute boat ride along the course (£15), a presentation on the History of the Regatta (£5), canapés, light buffet lunch (£20) and a few large glasses of high quality Champagne, wine or beer, non-alcoholic treats, such as posh coridal, teas and coffees also available (£15), light afternoon tea (£15) VIP access to the Barn Bar (£10), paypal fee (£5) Booking fee (£10)

It's worth mentioning that the train requires 3 changes, and cost £20!!!! So the upgrade of a return transport greatly adds to the enjoyment of the day.


In previous years, we bought tickets to the Enclosure for £25.  The Enclosure contains a licensed bar and has a bar, but I've found it a bit isolating and 'out of the action'.  This year, I have bought a few enclosure tickets for those that may want to explore this area, however, I'm very excited about having our own hospilitality tent along the river to allow us to excape the hussle of the river path, whilst still being close enough to enjoy the atmosphere. There will also be plenty of food and booze to fuel you through the day.


A glorious day out at one of the highlight events of the British Summer. Kelly has now taken me to two traditional sporting events - Ascot and Henley. Both were thoroughly researched, well thought out and planned, with a few lessons in the history, etiquette and traditions thrown in. Thank you for two great days Kelly. - Liza

No formal dress code applies although many people enjoy entering into the spirit of the occasion by dressing up.  The dress is similar to summer wedding wear or garden party. Men tend to wear sport jackets and Long flowy dresses for the girls. (although really anything goes)

Some girls will wear hats. Outside the Enclosures, they tend to be straw hats to protect the face from the strong British sun, rather than fasinators. (Although these are fun too!)


You will be able to see the races along the river.

The Regatta owns most of the riverbank and parking area on the Oxfordshire side and some of it on the opposite Buckinghamshire side, it has a great buzz, but can be over crowded.  Which is why we have hired the exclusive area.






We will be driven to the Regatta via minibus. This year I've upgraded the minibuses so that most of us can face eachother and have a table.

As Henley is West of London, the pickup point, and drop off will be Shepherd’s Bush (central line) leaving at 9:30AM.  We’ll return to London around 8PM.


Sorry this is fuzzy, we couldn't stop dancing!!!  We tend to go a little nuts on the minibus, it's all part of the fun!
