I just stepped up as lead organizer and I'm bringing this group back. Partially because my mom told me I'm gaining weight. I don't know about you guys, but I haven't been to a gym in 5 years and my New Year's resolution is to continue this impressive streak, ideally without ending up morbidly obese. Our first meetup this year will be rock climbing, but let me know what else you guys want to do.
Here's the plan: let's go to BK Boulders and band together in our futile struggle to climb anything harder than a Level 1. Unless you know what you're doing, in which case please help us because WHAT IS THE SECRET!? Backup plan if we fail: mess around on the slackwire (looks something like http://homepage.ntlworld.com/unicycle/slack1.JPG)
Climbing is possibly the geekiest sport around. Heights, adventure, puzzles. Attractive people with glasses. You'll feel like you're in Cliff Hanger. And it burns 600 calories an hour. Bouldering has virtually no entry cost other than your own shoes (rentals are available) but if you guys are interested in belaying and don't know how to do it, let me know and I'll inquire about group rates.
