Talk about Tech

Let's meetup over lunch to talk about tech, network and share ideas! Topic - "Best Practices - Managing your Contacts"

We all have to keep up with a variety of contacts, from current customers to leads, to networking groups.  How do you keep track of them all.  Are you running any kind of 'drip marketing' or follow up campaign?

Of course if we could, we'd all be using the latest expensive software programs for this, but there are some handy tricks to managing & keeping in touch with your contacts even if your budget won't allow you to become a Marketo customer!

Bring  your thoughts, we need them!

Our idea exchange at this meetup was focused on managing contacts. There were some great suggestions including MailChimp which is free for up to 2,500 emails. I have started a list of tools to help manage and cultivate your contacts - http://www.meetup.com/Tech-it-Easy-with-Wordpress/pages/Contact_Nurturing/

I also found this article which spoke specifically to our topic so I thought I'd share - http://www.zdnet.com/blog/diy-it/contact-managers-and-crm-systems-are-incredibly-stupid/365

MailChimp is actually free for up to 12,000 emails a month for up to 2,000 contacts! Thanks for posting these resources!

Due to several requests to hold the Calendar Plugin session in the evening, when we can spend a little more time on it, we have changed the topic for lunch tomorrow and will move the calendar session to an evening. I know we have some folks in Seattle who'd like to attend, does anyone know a place that we could host a meet up for 12-16 people in Bellevue?

Was planning on coming to this because this is a very important topic for me....sadly I can not attend because of scheduling conflicts.

Enjoy! This venue is too far from my office.

Lisa and Heather, Shaya and I actually are working on the same project. While we would love to talk to others about managing calendars, Bothell is a long way for both of us to travel just to talk to each other. :) Did either of you have specific suggestions to share with the group or is it going to be an open forum?

Hi Carole. There will be others at the group (at least that is what they have told me in person) who have not responded on meetup with an rsvp. I totally understand not wanting to come to talk only to the other person you are already working on a project with! We do have some ideas in our pocket to talk about but are hoping that the group will bring questions. I love the idea of talking about managing calendars. I know both of you have changed your rsvp to no now but would still love to have you come to this or a future talk about tech session!
