ALEXIS OHANIAN, Co-Founder of reddit, Internet Activist, and Entrepreneur

Well, you did it -- you SOLD OUT our Baltimore location with Alexis Ohanian. So I went back to Alexis and asked him to do another one in DC, and he said OK! So here we go!...

Just $29 if you register on or before October 18, 2013. $39 after that!

Alexis Ohanian is a startup founder and investor in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from UVA in 2005, Alexis and his co-founder Steve Huffman started reddit, now a top 100 website.

Now a reddit board member, Alexis focuses on social enterprise Breadpig, publishing authors like xkcd and SMBC -- profits donated to worthy causes.

Alexis helped launch hipmunk and ran marketing/pr/community before becoming an advisor and joining the fight against SOPA & PIPA.

Alexis invests and advises over sixty tech startups. He's Y Combinator's Ambassador to the East, co-founder of the non-profit IHAS, and author of "Without Their Permission" (a copy of which will be provided to attendees).

Along the way, Alexis spoke at TED, volunteered in Armenia as a Kiva Fellow, and was named on Forbes 30 Under 30 list two years in a row (and then turned 30).

He proudly doodled the logos for all three of his startups and loves his cat, Karma.

What is the Exec TechBreakfast?

Introducing a new kind of TechBreakfast with a new format!

Want to meet and chat with the luminaries in the industry but never had the chance? Want to get a one-on-one style of question & answer with folks who have made it in a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" style interaction?

Then Exec TechBreakfast is for you! This monthly event will bring together some of the most notable and well-known movers and shakers in the technology industries here in our tech region. Each Exec TechBreakfast will follow a strictly no-presentation format with the guest presenting their background and achievements, and then the floor is turned over to you, our attendees to dig deep! Think of this as "Office Hours" for those looking for advice and guidance from those who have already been there and done that.

Exec TechBreakfasts aren't free (they're just $29 if you register early), but they are high value. Oh, and we'll upgrade the breakfast too. Tired of bagels and coffee? Me too. Come to Exec TechBreakfast and get a nice, hot meal along with some warm conversation and rich interaction.

Thanks! Word of Mouth Marketing by Andy Sernovitz is also excellent...lots of things Alexis mentioned reminded me of that book.

Excellent event. +1 on the "time to chat" with the speaker. We waited until he actually came back, but even then it was brutal. Thank you for doing what you do to make these events happen.

Great event, but many of us weren't able to get our books signed, perhaps make a more clear limit on how long people can talk/take pictures etc?

HI Maxim -- thanks for letting me know about that. If you weren't able to get your book signed, let me know, and I'll see if I can get Alexis to sign them when I see him next in Philadelphia. Maybe I can book swap with you and give you signed books in exchange for an unsigned book. Drop me a note if you weren't able to get your book signed.
