World IP Day - Creativity, The Next Generation

This activity filled day will begin with a performance by the Allen Park High School Jazz Band!

Next up, a brief video on intellectual property and several speakers guest speakers.

Guest Speakers:

Alyssa Reiter - 12-year-old patent-holder, and creator of Hamster Bowling.

Will Brick - Manager of TechShop Detroit, a tool geek’s Garden of Eden.

Matthew Clayson - Director of Detroit Creative Corridor Center, and dedicated to helping Detroit become a global center of design and creative innovation.

Vincent Carducci - Dean of Undergraduate Studies at College for Creative Studies, Detroit; and art blogger.

Bill Coughlin - President/CEO of Ford Global Technologies, and manager of Ford Motor Company’s intellectual property portfolio.

Robin Evans - Director of the Elijah J. McCoy USPTO Satellite Office in Detroit.

Anthony Reale - Local inventor, designer, and entrepreneur. Anthony has developed of a turbine system based on the eating and movement of a Basking Shark.

Michael Stewart - Registered patent attorney and AIPLA Public Education Committee Vice Chair.

A panel discussion will follow from noon to 1 p.m.,

Additionally, there will be an exhibition featuring creative companies and organizations from the Detroit area!
