Social Discovery is Nothing Without Search

The term “Social Discovery” seems to be everywhere, but what does all really mean?

At this Tech in Motion Silicon Valley event, we will have guest speaker Damien Patton, Founder and CEO of Banjo.  Banjo is the leading location based search and social discovery platform that brings together the most popular social networks into one centralized feed creating “THE” Social Graph. Banjo takes you there, to the most interesting and important events and places around the world.

He will be speaking about the unique aspects of Banjo and how it allows you to be “there” even when you are “here” and how he applied his unique, non-Silicon Valley background (including Navy, NASCAR and crime scene investigator) to Banjo, launching it to 1M users in 9 months.

Please Download Banjo on your smartphone before event, available free on iPhone and Android.

As always, #TechInMotionSV will provide ample time to socialize and network with other tech-minded people.  Please feel free to bring a friend!

This was a good chance to feel some of the diversity of the valley. Fun to meet banjo startup culture and contrast its distinctness from established companies.

Personally speaking, I am very excited to hear Damien speak and more importantly to continue seeing the Banjo evolution. As a user, it has been refreshing to see a team iterate at such a rapid rate and specifically iterate around user feedback. This team has been the quintessential display of speed and power.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
