Beer and Bitcoins: A Networking Mixer

  • February 27, 2014 · 6:30 PM
  • LIR

With Bitcoin dominating the news lately, we couldn't think of a better topic to discuss over drinks with our fellow Boston techies!

Recently, we polled the national Tech in Motion committee to ask if they would be interested in being paid in Bitcoin and the results were surprising!

Join us on February 27th from 6:30 to 8:30 at Lir on Boylston Street! It will certainly be an evening of interesting crpytocurrency based chats coupled with tasty cocktails.

Throughout the event we'll be asking Bitcoin related questions and encouraging you to tweet your answers @Tech_In_Motion using #TechInMotion!

As always, our events are free for members and the first 45 people will receive drink tickets courtesy of Jobspring Partners and Workbridge Associates!

If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact Liz and Susie.

Sadly, I won't be able to attend tonight. I was so looking forward to discussing this topic too! If only I can figure out how to be in 2 places at once...

I'd love to come. In the middle of a BTC mining startup, which requires most of my time and all of my money. If I can get sponsored, I'll be there. This is crowd-source funding combined with guerrilla-style marketing. If you think it's clever, and would like me to be there as much as I want to be there, please donate. You know how, and I will be very appreciative.

I understand that, but travel is not, and I'm coming from 3 hours away... does that help clarify?

No problem. I found a way and will now be there.

Really interesting Ted talk I watched recently on disruptive currencies and how Tide has even become it's own form of currency in some markets! http://www.ted.com/talks/paul_kemp_robertson_bitcoin_sweat_tide_meet_the_future_of_branded_currency.html

I've heard the same. I just hope we can find something smaller AND lighter than Tide! LOL

Hi--I am seeking someone somewhat urgently to either write, or serve as a cited expert, about Bitcoin ETFs, particularly the Winklevii Bitcoin ETFs, from a quant and regulatory perspective. Journo experience not required; pay is competitive. Pls contact me privately via meetup messaging. Cheers, E.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
