Did WordPress Do That?

WordPress is the most widely used Content Management System because it's easy to use, easy to customize and it's free! What a lot of people don't realize is how powerful WordPress can be with the right tools. This talk will show you how powerful WordPress can be with minimal knowledge of how to design or develop websites. We'll cover the themes and plugins you need to know about and hopefully do some things you didn't think WordPress could do.

This talk is for everyone whether you are using WordPress already or not. Users, non-users and developers alike should all walk away having learned something new.

Fleeting technical difficulties aside, it was a great talk. Jon seems eminently knowledgeable about both the platform itself and the interests of the local tech/WordPress community.

It was a little more technical than I could use. I'm guessing it was ok for others

There actually was a WordCamp slide when I did the presentation last night. I took it out before putting it on my company's slideshare. My follow up blog post will have the information in it tho.

Hey Jon - no WordCamp Slide? Folks in this crowd might be interested in the third WordCamp Boston coming up July 13-15th at BU: http://boston.wordcamp.org/

I thought Jon did an amazing job providing people with great examples of what Wordpress can do with his slides, the sites he showcased, and with his talk. I'd go to see this speaker again and I learned a lot from the talk.

Jon did a good job of presenting a wide variety of useful information, fulfilling his promise that no matter where you are with WordPress you would come away with new insights, which I did.

Jon, thanks for that great talk. I use WordPress every day, and you gave me some new thoughts to pursue. And you kept me up late downloading things and trying them. Well done!

Check out this presentation from Matt Cutts via Google: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/seo-for-bloggers/

One of the slides says WordPress takes care of 80-90% of your SEO right out of the box. The rest is minor enhancements using a plugin like WordPress SEO and putting out content people care about.

It's also a great presentation in general to check out about SEO.

This was a great talk. I had a question for Jon that I didn't ask at the meetup. Does WordPress help you with SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?
