As you may be aware Windows 8 becomes generally available to consumers on October 26th, and as one of the Technical Evangelists for Microsoft, I am reaching out to developer communities to provide resources and contact information for those who are interested in realizing the “first mover advantage” of getting their applications into the Windows Store on Opening Day.

Web developers: did you know that Windows 8 applications can be developed in HTML5/JavaScript/CSS (as well as C++ and C#/Visual Basic).  And the development tools are free?

Microsoft’s Generation App is the best place to start; it provides a free, 30-day guided program to take you from cool app idea to Windows Store submission, including on-line resources and consultations with Windows 8 architects, designers, and field engineers who guide you along the way.

In addition, please don’t hesitate to contact me as a local resource (via any of the contact links below) if you have questions about getting started or need additional resources to be successful in getting your own applications into the Windows Store.
