Sorry to litter the inbox but the last email's subject said 6:00 A.M. not 6:00 P.M! The meetup will most certainly be at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday June 7th. Hope to see you there!
Good afternoon Tech in Motion members:
I met many of you at the last meetup we had at the Microsoft store in South Coast. I wanted to send out another email about our upcoming meetup and express excitement about the speaker we will have for you. Elmer Thomas, "Developer Evangelist" at Anaheim based Sendgrid, is our speaker who will be presenting on the topic "How to increase your personal productivity as a developer."
Once again this meetup will be held at the typically off the beaten path haven of Durty Nelly's located at 2915 Red Hill Avenue. We will have a private room capable of holding 200 people and will provide appetizers and drinks and a great platform to network with other engineers and hear from a well known speaker.
A little about Sendgrid
-probably the most successful OC based tech start-up of the past few years.
-Partnered with Amazon, Roku, Rackspace
-Provides a cutting edge Email filtering, delivery, and analytics platform on a SAAS model to replace the high cost, low reliability of traditional email platforms.
-Currently 60 employees and roughly 30 open positions.
-Used my most of the hottest companies in technology http://sendgrid.com/customers.html
A little about Elmer:
Personal expertise is "Software management, design and development; productivity systems; and Internet ( Social Media ) marketing"
Currently responsible for training software developers WORLDWIDE on integrating seamlessly with Sendgrid's API
1400 Twitter followers.
Once again the long term goal of Tech in Motion: OC is to help facilitate a sense of community amongst tech professionals in the greater Orange County area. There is more variety of tech industry from a product standpoint in Orange County, CA than anywhere in the world and just because we are a metropolitan area and not a city should not mean that industry cannot benefit from a shared identity and a forum in which to network.
