Tech in Motion: Toronto Message Board › Join the debate on Erlang & Elixir!
Our first ever Toronto Erlang Factory Lite has been confirmed. Join us on 23 November for a full day debate on Erlang as a powerful tool for building innovative, scalable and fault tolerant applications.
Our speakers will showcase examples from their work experience and their personal success stories, thus presenting how Erlang solves the problems related to scalability and performance.
At this event we will focus on what Erlang brings to the table in the multicore era. We will take a deep dive into Elixir - a functional programming language that has a Ruby-like syntax and it's built on top of the Erlang VM. Elixir is fully compatible with existing Erlang code, has many modern features, very good metaprogramming support and the benefit of learning from other languages’ experiences.
We'll also get some fresh updates on the Riak distributed database!
If you have an idea or a project you have been working on and would like to share it with the local geeks this is a great opportunity! Submit your talk here.
Early Bird Registration for the Toronto EFL is open. You can register here.
