Anyone who will consider joining an inviting and caring group of moms and children for all sorts of activities in the Temescal Valley area is welcome. We will have playdates both at homes and parks, Mommy & me coffee and cocoa (or milk), adventures to various local attractions, the much deserved Mom's Night Out, as well as our traditional "Dos Lagos Lake Walk" meetup and other activities suggested by our members. We build a strong, supportive and comfortable group for both our children and ourselves. Won't it be great to have our kids grow up with a wonderful bunch of friends?
We hope you will join us!!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Who Are We?
We are a large, close knit group of moms who love our child/children. There are children ranging from newborn to schoolage. We are proud of the positive experiences we share with one another. If you have a young child it can be a challenge to get out the door but sometimes just knowing that a friend is potentially waiting for you makes it a bit easier to get out of the house.
Why must I attend a meeting before being allowed to join?
For the safety of our young members, we want to meet those interested in joining. If you are interested, you will not be able to access the site until the organizer has met you and your child. You will be given access to the site within 8 hours of attending the event. Again, this is policy just to ensure safety of our members.
How often are our events?
We offer a variety of events throughout the week; at least 1 or more per week. Our events include...going to parks, to Tom's Farms, Dos Lagos, different malls, lunch, potlucks, Moms' Night Out, story times, and coffee. We often get some of the best ideas from members!
How often are members expected to attend events?
We believe that the more frequently you attend the events the more you will get out of the group and the greater possibility you will have to forge friendships. Given the number events scheduled throughout the month (at least 6), we ask that members attend AT LEAST one daytime event each month with their child.
It is important that you RSVP because it encourages others to participate. So whether your response is 'yes', 'no', or 'maybe' your RSVP is an indication and reinforcement that we are an active group. Even a "no" RSVP is welcome, so we know you're out there and still interested! A "yes" RSVP should be treated like any other commitment. As a courtesy to the rest of the group, please change your RSVP at least 24 hours prior to an event if possible. As a mom, life does happen. If your child is sick or you are having a hard day we understand!!
What about the profile questions and picture?
Once you are approved for membership, you will be required to upload a photo of yourself, child, or family in your profile and answer the questions so that our members can recognize one another for meetups. It is also easier to get to know each other if we know a little bit about one another.
Does the group cost anything?
No. The organizer has paid for the website for the year. It is free to you.
How do I join?
Please click on "Contact Organizer" if you are interested. If you have been referred or met one of our moms please tell me who has directed you to us in your e-mail. We will try to have one to two meetups a month specifically designed for new members. That way you can come and feel comfortable as there will be other moms there who are also attending for the first time. Please allow 48 hours turnaround time.
