The Independence Day weekend we will be repeating                          The River Front Heritage Trail. Saturday, July 6th, 9 am.

This is a new trail that was officially opened this last November (2012). Link for trail is: http://kcrivertrails.org/

We will begin at the Richard Berkeley Park access-point, northeast of the River Market.

Go north on Grand toward the river, it will curve toward the east and become Riverfront Road and there you will find the access point to the left (north).

Towards the end of the ride we will break at the River Market Coffee house for rest and fellowship. Also the KC Public Library is having the River Market book Sale that d

ay in the River Market.

(FYI: Although most of the trail is dedicated to Bicycling/walking, there are areas where connections of the trail require us to be on the street)

We only try to ride trails that are paved and/or specifically made for biking/pedestrian comfort. There are a few trails we have found that include areas with crushed gravel but I will try to make that disclosure prior to the ride.

We also really respect an individual’s endurance, pace and stamina. That is what makes this group so unique and compassionate because we all vary in age and physical capabilities. Our first and foremost priority is for those of us to be mindful of being outdoors in the fresh air and to simply keep our bodies in motion.  I have even found sometimes it is important to just stop and enjoy the scenery.

Fancy Bicycle attire is NOT required but HELMETS are highly recommended. There is not any judgment, pressure or competition with our group. Our rides are created with a simple motivation toward the body, mind and spirit.

Weather permitting of course! I'm wondering if the area will be cleaned up and accessible after the Riverfest on 7/4 ?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
