New Member & Training Hike "Get In Shape" Series

This is a continuation of a series of training hikes for those with a desire to hike the big hikes, such as Fiery Gizzard, Honey Creek, Virgin Falls, but don't feel as if you are ready. This is also a great way for new members to begin the adventure - it is close to home, slower paced, and less intimidating.

Radnor Park is a perfect place to begin, because the many trails permit ever increasing levels of difficulty, as well as places to exit should one become fatigued and wish to finish sooner.

We will adjust our event to accommodate the group, and may separate into sub-groups in order to cater to individual needs.

All I ask is that you bring an intent to stick with it and progress to a higher level of fitness. Your initial fitness level is not important - only your desire to improve.

NOTES:

Access is only from Granny White Pike/Otter Creek Road because the road is blocked to vehicle traffic through the park. On some maps Otter Creek Road looks like a through street for cars but it is not.

Bring water. Bring a friend, or two, or ten...

Dogs are not permitted on the trails in Radnor Park.

Your feedback is encouraged, and will help make this a successful event.

Great hike! Thanks Jim for organizing the hikes. The "Get In Shape" series is really helping to build endurance for longer and more difficult hikes.

I love hiking but haven't done much in quite a while, so this seems like a good way to start back up.
