The essence of meditation is awareness. Each passing moment offers a fresh opportunity to relax into a state of timeless presence. While this spacious awareness is always with us, the sheer force always changing. In mindfulness meditation, we learn to train the mind so that any experience can be used as a support for centering ourselves in awareness.
In this introductory workshop you will learn about the benefits of mindfulness meditation, how to meditate using sound and the breath, and how to create a home practice. We will also watch a short video teaching with Mingyur Rinpoche, author of the Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret and Science of Happiness.
This workshop is being offered by meditation practice leaders Max Maksimik and Amy Reyer from the Tergar Hudson Valley Meditation Community. There is no fee for this workshop. Donations of any amount are welcome.
