Mobile Test Tools @ Groupon

Groupon continues to lead in its mobile business; worldwide mobile transactions increased significantly to nearly 50% in December and about 9 million people downloaded our apps worldwide in the quarter, bringing cumulative app downloads to nearly 70 million.  Do you find yourself asking just how Groupon manages to ship high quality mobile applications to the world? Good! We'll be talking about the technology that testers create here at Groupon to ensure that everyone has a fantastic experience with our apps. In the course of the evening we'll talk about the following tools and the plans we have to open source them:

- See how RoboRemote lets you use Robotium and UiAutomator at the same time to automate complex scenarios on Android.
- Morphing your service data to meet your mobile application testing needs! We'll show you how our automation engineers, manual testers and developers all use the same tool to simulate complicated testing scenarios with our mobile applications.
- Have you open sourced something that you think other mobile testers should know about? Want to present it? Let us know your ideas!

We are planning to begin our talks promptly at 6:30 and wrap up Q&A at around 7:30.  There will be networking, pizza & beer beforehand.

    Hi everybody,
we are a small research group at Aarhus University, we are seeking for open problems in GUI testing for Android.
In particular we would understand how many of you are using Robotium or Espresso, and if they think that Espresso will fit all their needing in the future.
We are seeking for a test suite written in Espresso, to use as a case study for understanting which problems may be still open.
Does anyone want to help ? Does anyone want to share his test suite source code ?

Hi all. Do you have any more meetups planned soon? Also, is there a video or screencast for your last presentation?

Hi Ashwin! We're planning out a roadmap of meetup events in our SF, PA, Seattle and Chicago offices for the year. In the mean time, there's no set date for the next one yet but it will be within the next couple of months for sure. Unfortunately there's no recording of the previous Meetup.

Hello! Very interested to learn more about Groupon testing practices, tools and frameworks. Also, happy to talk about our technology Qubell that is focused on end-to-end release automation for large-scale omnichannel companies and integrates with stage- and channel-specific tools as a part of the broader test automation platform.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
