Parking Lot Practice post-poned :(

WELLLLL... here it's fall and temps still in the 100s. I do not have official permission from anyone to stage this event. So I am going to have to post-pone for a later date. I wanted a location with restroom facilities and very little or no traffic.

Weather is warm but nice enough for a good Sunday afternoon RIDE. We will meet at George Bush park by the soccer fields on the south side of Westheimer-1093 just west of Barker Cypress-1454 (It's a parking lot with restroom facilities). Take the scenic way over for some frozen yogurt at Tutti Frutti on Fry rd and Kingsland. Hope you will join us and sorry for the change of plans.

After I dried out ( I did have my rain jacket on but I really needed my duck suit on my to the meetup location) it was a great ride. Thanks Hayes!

OMG! What a wonderful group of riders! I joined TFRs about 10 months ago and this is the first ride I was able to attend. That being said, I can't wait to ride again. I have little group riding experience but I wasn't challenged to keep up. It was "all good".

Live to ride and ride to live.

    Hugs to all the TFR-ers

Glad you got to ride with us finally! This one was a little more eventful than most. :) Rain, O'Riellys stop, heat, frozen yogurt on tap, more rain...good time had by all :)

I got to I-10 and saw a huge rain shaft ahead, the temp dropped, and I retreated North. Had a good rid up thru Magnolia and back to Cypress. Maybe next time??

  • Bill

I ran through the park from West to East (in my rain suit) and looped around to the south side and came back through. Did not see any bikes at all on my passes. I didn't see any bikes at the soccer fields so I thought maybe I missed the location and went to check other areas... Unless we could have determined the showers were retreating, I probably would have declined going. I'll come home in the rain if I have to, but I'll rarely head out in the rain, especially if I don't have to! I haven't installed my new front tire yet... and wasn't excited at all about hitting wet roads on the "old" one!

OAN... church was great! Dr. Young is doing a great job on illuminating the Book of Romans!

Blessings to all... and I hope we try more Sunday "after church" rides!

I live in Webster and, as I was rolling my bike out of the garage this morning at 10AM, it started thundering and lightening. Weather radar shows T-storms rolling through the area but looks clear on the west side of town. That being said, it looks like I will not make it today, again:-(>

Hey there...new kid in town (read: state) and I believe I may be able to make it Sun...question as I am reading this on my phone...is the PLP still postponed? If so I wanted to bring one of my girls....but wanted to verify. How far from Webster and which is final time as I notice few comments about delays after church. New to meet up too... sorry!! And Thanks!!

You might consider adding in Winner-Foster rd to your route. From 90A, Take 723 north to 359, left for less than a mile, left on Winner-Foster rd. connects with Bois d Arc lane and then 1093 in Fulshear. You'll love it...

    September 7, 2013

Although I've been a member for a while I've never been able to make a ride, but, I plan to be there tomorrow so sign me up.

I get out of church at Fry Rd and I-10 at noon. Would like to participate if I knew the group would not leave GBP before I get there (about 20-30 min at the most). The meeting place is on my way home from church going the back way...

KSU is at 12:30 come on over Bill.

Thanks... answered prayer! :) Gotta love it. Now if we can get the weather to cooperate! Have missed you all since my wife returned with her mom from Brazil... but I'll definitely sneak off for this one if we're not in major downpours.

      September 5, 2013

  • Chris

Was planning on showing up to the PLP late but doesn't look like I'll be able to make it by KSU. If anything changes I'll let you know if I can make it but if not have fun, ride safe and try to stay in the shade.

While the double U-turn is a good exercise for control of your bike, does it have a practical application on our rides? Just asking.

Hi everyone, I will be visiting Houston soon just in time for the September 8th meetup. I'm very excited to get my intro to the Houston Motorcycle community.

I work for a company called EatSleepRIDE and we have just released an iOS app for motorcyclists. It's really handy for group rides, recording your route, and discovering new motorcycle roads in your area. If anyone was interested in using it, let me know and I will add you: we can stay connected before I head down south in September. http://App.EatSleepRIDE.com

    Ride on!
